Join Nathalie Amey for her wine course at Tussie Mussie Vineyard retreat

Tussie Mussie venue for our wine education course Mornington Peninsula, AustraliaMornington Peninsula Wine Education Course and Country Retreat

We have dates set in September for what will be two memorable wine courses and retreats. This will be a live in experience at the sublime Tussie Mussie Vineyard Retreat. Not just a wine education course, this will be a taste of country living at it's finest. Set amongst it's own vineyard, Tussie Mussie excudes refinement and comfort - what better place to relax and learn all you wanted to learn about wine?

The retreat will also include in addition to the wine education course, ample opportunities to learn about food and wine pairing us we share meals in the wonderful country kitchen or outside terrace. Gourmet dinners will be prepared in the Vineyard Kitchen by bespoke chef the Culinarian, Ben Davies. The menu and wines are carefully coordinated by Ben and Nathalie.

There will be wonderful food and companionship for 3 days while Nathalie hosts and conducts the wine course. As an added treat, we hope that Tussie Mussie's own winemaker, Kathleen Quealy will be available to participate and share her knowledge as part of the course. She and her husband Kevin were some of the original winemakers on the Peninsula so they have much to share about wine and wine making on the Peninsula.

The theme of this wine retreat is to of course learn about wine but we want it to be more than that. A relaxed informal country house atmosphere, casual al fresco meals, good wine and good conversation.

Tussie Mussie Vineyard Retreat

Remove yourself from the world for just a little while and enjoy the peaceful calm of your own exclusive vineyard. So close to the vibrant city of Melbourne - and yet a world away.

The property has a history of being a working rose and herb farm. Today, although it remains a working vineyard of Pinot and Pinot Gris vines, the roses and herbs are a labour of love cultivated only for your enjoyment during your stay at The Retreat. It is a special place that has all the charm and romance of a French Provencal MAS (Farm). Perhaps, it's because it's owners also own and run an 18th century renovated Provencal property "La Ferme du Bon Dieu" in the Luberon Valley in the south of France. (For details of our wine education course at La Ferme du Bon Dieu, click here)

By participating in this wine course and retreat, you will also enjoy the rustic simplicity, good food and style of Provence without leaving Australian shores - on the beautiful Mornington Peninsula.

The Vineyard Lodge

The Vineyard Lodge is where you will stay during the course. It's luxurious and spacious, consisting of four king bedrooms, each with their own bathroom suite, private entrance and terrace.

All the beds are dressed in luxury Sheridan 1000 thread count cotton sheets and soft towels. Enjoy a beautiful double storm shower or bath using the organic Australian toiletries supplied. Three of the suites have baths including The Hillingdon Suite that has a huge corner spa bath. The large king beds and luxury mattresses offer you a wonderful night sleep.

All the suites have their own terraces and separate entrances making The Vineyard Lodge both convivial for a large group of friends, yet enabling each guest to enjoy the privacy of their own suite.

The Vineyard Kitchen

The vineyard kitchen is an interesting open plan premises separate to the main lodge and to the other vineyard properties. It's here you will enjoy fully catered meals and around the table you will have plenty of opportunity to ask both Nathalie and the Chef about their food and wine pairing choices.

It is very unique and cosy - yet with plenty of space. Towards the back of the room the unique, modern decor continues with a large rectangular table which comfortably sits 14 guests. An ideal setting to join with friends, old and new, and unlock some of the mysteries of wine appreciation with Nathalie.

The Long Table

The Long Table which overlooks the vineyard, colorful rose garden and manicured grass, provides an amazing place to enjoy the your time at Tussie Mussie. It has a distant view of soft hills and the more immediate view of the healthy young green vines which will be a wonderful talking point as you undertake the course!

Three huge cast iron candelabras hang above the table on a rustic iron support that frames this wonderful scene. If the weather is kind, we will enjoy lunches here as we break between the sessions, a truly wonderful setting to relax and just take in the serenity that is Tussie Mussie.
